Arguably the best meal we had here. The pasta is fresh, my husband's pasta puttanesca was divine, with a zing I've never tasted to the dish which we absolutely loved. My pasta Olivia was lovely, fettuccine with artichokes, tomatoes and kalamatas. Cannoli was the best one either of us have ever eaten, and we've eaten a lot of cannolis! Usually we don't hit Italian restaurants on vacation because it's what we eat at home, and finding an Italian restaurant that tops out charts is a rare find indeed. This one did and was one of only 2 spots we returned to twice (the other was Turtle Kraals). Do yourself a favor and check this place out, you won't be disappointed! Btw... ask for Austin as your waiter, he is personable and an excellent waiter. All our needs were anticipated and provided for before we had to ask. Top notch waiter!

After living in Key West for several months this has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants. The service, food and atmosphere are all outstanding. Not a touristy spot at all. Over and over I keep choosing NY Pasta Garden over most of the other places I've tried on the island.

Service is good. Te server was curious and attentive. The scampi was very good. The chicken parm was ok. It was not really real Italian nor was it Carraba's. The house wine is served in large glasses. Overall decent food and good atmosphere.

Tucked away in Duval Square, this restaurant was one of our favorites during our recent week of eating out! We stayed upstairs in the condos, so we passed through the enticing aromas every time we left to hit Duval. Delicious food, delightful waitstaff, and unrushed and peaceful atmosphere. We all ordered different entrees so we could share, and while I loved it all, the seafood lasagna (nightly special) won, hands down. Wine choices by the bottle were reasonable, and the selection was not disappointing. We loved our evening here and all agreed we would be back next trip!

Excellent dinner. $25-$30 per plate. Great service. Outdoor dining. Located in DeVol Square. Very quiet. Simply wonderful meal.

My family went to the restaurant as part of a wedding celebration and this meal was the highlight of our week! Tom by far made the experience phenomenal he went above and beyond to accommodate to us. best Italian meal we have had outside of NY!!!

Rounding up from 2.5 rating. I really really wanted to like this place because it was kind of lovely with the birds and the garden. However, when we went, the restaurant had maybe 5 tables including us, and it took forever for a server to even bring us a menu. The menu has only a few items and they were very simple items, which is fine, but we waited over an hour for our food. We had spaghetti meatballs, eggplant parmesan, fried calamari, and a mahi sandwich. I am certain I could have prepared all of it in less time. Furthermore, when the food finally came out, the server brought us the wrong thing. We received the spaghetti, eggplant, calamari, and a simple steamed shrimp appetizer. I cannot comprehend how that could even take over an hour, but we waited another 30 minutes for them to bring out the correct sandwich. There was nothing special about the food, I can't say it was good, but it wasn't terrible either. I would recommend walking by the area to see the birds, but I would rather eat fast food than come back here again.

We come to Key West regularly now and this is our second visit. I can't say enough about the food, the atmosphere, and the service. These folks have the right idea and they use it. There were 5 of us and we all had something different. We took the special, steamed little necks, as our starter. Our waitress, Jeannette, (marvelous girl), gave us the artichoke heart special because she liked us. The portions are a good size. If you are an average eater you may be taking some home, light eaters, definitely. We did not try the deserts because there was no room at the inn. Enjoy!

Was seated at a dirty table and was not even acknowledged by a server for over ten minutes. Decided to leave and try our luck somewhere else. Too bad, but not the level of service I expected.

Went for dinner and returned the next morning for breakfast! It was that good. While in Key West we wanted pasta and decided to gove it a try based on reviews. Im so glad that we did. We sat outside and it was so pretty it really made me feel like I in a tropical garden. I had the chicken piccata and it was delicious. I wish we had gone here sooner so we could have gone more than once. My cousin had penne ala vodka and said it was great. If you live garlic the knots will not disappoint. We went the next day for breakfast and the food was just as good. Everyone who helped us was friendly and accommodating. When I go back to Key West this will be a must!

Come here if you're really hungry after a long day on the water. Sit outside with a big glass of red wine, goof around with the screaming parrots and friendly dogs, and quit being such an up-tight snob about everything. This place makes me happy, and I don't care what anyone else says about the food being mediocre.

I just had dinner on the patio. Had their house merlot and it was wonderful. I ordered a caprese salad piccolo and grouper ala lola. It was fantastic. The salad could definitely be shared by two. There were parrots and lovely music providing ambiance. It was quiet enough to hear my companions speak without strain. A lovely meal, and lovely place. I wish I had saved room for a sweet. Would definitely return if I come back to Key West.

Very upscale Italian Resturant. Outside patio was elegant and nicely lit. This is slightly off Duval St. We almost missed it. Staff was informative and friendly. The pasta dishes are very large. I had the seafood lasagna which was fabulous. The food was great. I was tired of all the seafood from the local dives. This place was very romantic and upscale. The patrons were upscale as well so no loud drunkin idiots around. The menu had a very nice selection and the stuffed shells tasted old world (I tried my boyfriends). You'll love this place.

This place was a total trip. It was raining on our last day in Key West. Our inn was only a few blocks away from the shopping center that this place is in, so when it started to sprinkle we decided to ride our bikes over to see what we could drum up for a final late lunch (3ish). We checked a couple of the places in the strip and decided on this one based mostly on the fact that it was open at that hour. We couldn't have made a better decision. There was only one other table seated when we got there, and they finished and left before our meals arrived. There was also a fellow I assume is part of the staff (owner, maybe?) who sat at the bar working on a computer the whole time we were there, with his pet bird on his shoulder most of the time. There are only maybe a dozen tables in the place, all set for fine dining, but the prices were much more reasonable than the decor makes it look like they'll be. We each ordered a glass of Pinot Noir and I can only guess that an entire bottle we split between our two glasses: huge goblet filled almost to the brim. I ordered a chicken parm sandwich, my husband eggplant parm. They were GIGANTIC. And excellent. The fries were stellar (battered to perfection). We shared both sandwiches, and I have to tell you despite having ordered the chicken, the eggplant was better. Crisp and wonderful. Our server was hilarious, honestly. His name was Paul, and owners, if you read this, I assure you he didn't pay me to compliment him. He was great and... uh, colorful. He was prompt and energetic and had lots and lots of personality that we thoroughly enjoyed. He brought us to-go cups for our wine unprompted which is always appreciated. We enjoyed our visit to the pasta garden much more than we expected, and it made for a perfect last meal before heading to the airport and home.

Everything is right about this Restaurant. The atmosphere is a cross of sidewalk cafe and tropical beach. We had the pleasure of Tommy taking care of our table it's very rare that you get to have someone help you that is a true professional. From appetizers to the main course we could not of asked for more. Best meal we have had in Key West. If pasta is your love too , this is MECA.

Excellent late night dinner. There was cool fans outside to provide a breeze. The calamari appetizer was really good. We also were given a free appetizer, on the house! Fried artichokes! The complementary garlic knots were amazing as well. Practically sitting in slices of garlic and olive oil. Overall, good atmosphere, and large portions for average priced Italian food.

Excellent service, fabulous chef would not even begin to describe the experience at the pasta garden. Traveled to Key West with friends who went on a charter boat- caught tons of fresh fish. We brought the fish to the restaurant upon which the chef and waiter suggested the best options to prepare the catch! It was fabulous... Delicious and filling!!! And the price to do so, amazingly inexpensive. It was wonderful, please enjoy this restaurant on your next visit to Key West. And, ask for Kamil!!!

I've been here a few times for dinner, but went yesterday for brunch for the first time before leaving KW. We showed up around 1:30pm, and there was maybe 5 tables seated outside & 2 servers. the service was SOOOO slow. That being said, our waiter was very nice and even brought our pup a bowl of water. Our food was good, but nothing special (omelettes, 3 egg breakfast and a chicken salad sandwich) and I am still wondering why it took so long. We've never had this issue before, I'm guessing they were short staffed & those two servers were the only people working? On the plus side, I think our server knew our service was slow and didn't charge my mom for her bloody mary. I would come back, but probably for dinner.

Great little spot for a late evening dinner. Parrots included. You can choose from Classic Italian pasta dishes and pizzas as well as more turf oriented fare. They have an abbreviated be menu as well. Excellent house made garlic knots are complementary, bathing in their own parmesan garlic olive oil base. They pour an excellent (~8-9 ounces) glass of wine and have a decent selection (would have liked to see a full list of the options they have by the glass, only had the bottle options on the "captains list"). We tried the veal and chicken parms, the chicken Marsala, and the stuffed pasta. The Marsala was exquisite in flavor and quantity was just right. Baked shells were perfect. The parms were both Okay but not good. The pasta with the parms was not hot enough and lacked flavor. The chicken/veal itself was good but the cheese was mediocre at best. Then again I'm a parm aficionado, but others have remarked that it is a weak offering. If you must, ask them to make sure the cheese on the meat is well baked/melted. Don't let one part of my dish deter you, reasonably priced for key west with great portions and service. Key lime pie was worth it! Coffee fresh!

This place didn't have any gluten free options. One of our guests has an allergy. They were really rude about it too. The rest of the food was fine. Before we left the waiter brought us free wine and a salad. Way to recover.

    (5)
  • Scott A.

"What gluten free options do you have?" "We don't have any". I really thought there was a misunderstanding. But after a little more discussion, it's almost completely true. They even add gluten to their sauteed veggies! In the end, I had a chicken Caesar salad which was tasty and seemed to be gluten free.

What a great time. Service was perfect. Wine was plentiful, food quality was outstanding. Atmosphere was very good for kids too. Prices for what we ordered, in Key West were reasonable. A GRAND SLAM. Highly recomend. One last note. The one glass of wine I ordered and received was equivalent to two in New York. So Yea they had me at hello.... lol.

Great place! Waiter was awesome and the food was delicious. The complementary garlic bread they give you are lick your fingers good. We ordered glasses of wine and they didn't have the prices on the menu. When they brought out a glass that looked like almost half of a bottle I was pleasantly shocked when we realized it was only 9$. Will definitely be back here when we return to the keys!

Meal was fantastic and staff v friendly. Location great and the kids enjoyed the wildlife! Servings are massive and complimentary food is on offer to get you started. Highly recommended. 3 kids, one of which is quiet fussy and no probs there. Def great value. For a change a pleasant surprise was had when the bill arrived!!

So there are a few different restaurants in this wonderfully shady alley/strip and this one was the one we choose. Met the greeter at the front and immediately started second guessing ourselves as he did not utter a single word but grabbed menues and seemed to expect us to follow him. Fortunately this rough start was a distant memory by the end of our meal. Janette was our server and made the experience easily our best of our trip the the Keys. Above and beyond service and fantastic food. Highly, highly recommended.

Really depends on what you order here.. Don't order the sausage and meatballs if you expect more than 1 meatball. The bruschetta and chicken parmi were really good though. Staff are lovely

Excellent service and the best meal I've had on Ket West to date. Hidden Gem. I had the Pasta Puttenesca (house linquini) and my wife had the Shrimp Alfredo; we were treated to the Artichoke Franchaise (and Garlic Knots - O.M.G.) which I heartedly recommend as well as our entrees. Wine list was rather small and pricey but the house wines fit our meal ex ceedingly well. Followed up sharing a Canollii and having Expresso. Complete experience al fresco in the Key West clime. We''ll be back.

We loved this place so much that we're back for the second time in two days. Last night was pasta, today it's pizza. The garlic knots are AMAZING and we received complimentary artichoke hearts starter that was delish. Wine prices here are crazy awesome. Service is outstanding, even when we asked to be moved inside due to unfortunate sprinkling.

Off the street on Duval, we think this place is an absolute must to visit. Outstanding meals that don't skimp or take shortcuts, authentic! Thanks for impressing us and our guests with a fabulous dinner, the best we have had in Key West. Here's to seeing you again for hopefully a 8 year return. Have a great year and keep up the fantastic job.

Overpriced with mediocre food. Totally bizarre experience with our waiter. This place is all ambiance - lush tropical setting with little lights on the trees and live music. We came here specifically because I was craving Italian. And even more specifically, lasagne. A fair test of any Italian place, right? Well, I asked if they made theirs with a béchamel sauce. The blank stare from the host should have been the first sign. We sat down and ordered it anyway - Flavorless and 'generic' at best. I barely ate a quarter of it, which is rare for me. My boyfriend ordered the Mahi Mahi with angel hair pasta, said it was just ok. On to the drinks... If you don't order off their pricey wine list, they turn their nose up at you, such as when my boyfriend ordered a beer. Ha... I then asked what cocktails they had. Our waiter said they could make me 'anything I wanted'. He quite adamantly emphasized the 'anything' part. Ok - I asked for a cucumber vodka gimlet. He furrowed his brow... 'how do you make that?' Hmm...ok. I explained. 'Oh, we can't make that. We have no cucumber.' Ok. I'll have a regular vodka gimlet. 'Why don't you try a rum runner?' He suggested. I said I'm not in the mood for that right now. Then he said 'do you know how we make ours?? It's the best'. And I said I know it's a fruity drink and I don't really want that. And he says 'what are you afraid of? Just try one!' Ummm... No thank you. I'll have a regular vodka gimlet. Pushy fellow. He proceeded to bring me an abomination of a drink made with that fake lime juice mix (yes, I can tell the difference from fresh lime juice) and no garnish. Again, barely touched my drink. My boyfriend and I ate the complimentary table garlic rolls. Later, while my boyfriend was in the bathroom, the waiter comes back. 'So, where are you two from?' I told him. 'And what do you both do for a living?' Umm... Woah. I'm feeling slightly uncomfortable at this point. I hesitate to answer. 'Are you a bartender?' He asks. Umm... Woah again. Why, because I had an odd drink order? (I thought to myself) Geez... Doesn't this violate some unwritten rule for servers to not interrogate guests? I told him what I did, and he says 'oh' and walks away. Is this waiter judging me? Lol... I felt like I was in some alternate universe. Or maybe a Seinfeld episode. My boyfriend gets back and I recount the events. Even he agrees our waiter is a little 'off'. Or possibly 'on' something. Either explanation may help alleviate the sting of spending over $80 on a dinner we didn't particularly enjoy. Needless to say, we did not stay for dessert or coffee. Nor would we recommend this place to anyone visiting key west. Perhaps if I had ordered the rum runner, my night would have turned out differently. 'What are you afraid of?!' Not the garlic rolls, those are amazing.

We found the New York Pasta Garden outstanding on all counts. Paul N. was our waiter (he also serves as a bartender) and he was extremely attentive, charming, and personable. The atmosphere is beautiful, and there are colorful birds in the banyan trees in the charming courtyard. The food was delicious and the wine was outstanding.

This was a great find in Duval Square. It's a bit tucked away from the Duval Street side. You have to walk back quite a way, but it's right next to the parking lot on Simonton Street. The food is excellent and portion sizes are big. I had the chicken parmigiana, my wife had the stuffed shells and both of my kids had fettuccine alfredo. No one was able to finish it all. Our problem was that we were heading to the 4th of July fireworks after dinner, so we couldn't take it with us. It almost felt criminal to not be able to take such leftovers with us. The staff was great...very friendly and very efficient. Since it was the 4th of July, they were bringing free artichoke fritters to every table, which was very kind of them. And they were fantastic! There are a couple of parrots hanging out on the tree in the outdoor dining area. One of the parrots was squawking a lot, and I have to admit it was amusing watching them trying to quiet him down, which they eventually did by moving him to another tree! Highly recommended!

We were looking for a quick yet wholesome bite on our first night in Key West and this place was right on the money! They have beautiful outdoor seating around a nice big tree covered in lights and they also have a red Macaw. Our server was very courteous and gave us our time to decide what we wanted. While we were deciding on our order he brought us these freshly baked bread rolls covered in olive oil and fresh garlic..they were perfectly fluffy and I enjoyed the garlic. Since we weren't too hungry we decided on a soup and shared an entree. We started with the French onion soup which came in this huge bowl covered with a layer of mozzarella. It had a bouillon like consistency but was very flavorful and had soaked pieces of bread in it. The entree we ordered was the shrimp and scallop scampi which is their house favorite. And it truly is worth of the title! The shrimps and the scallops were perfectly cooked and the sauce was a perfect blend of white wine and butter. With a dash of pepper that I added it turned out perfect! The food was absolutely delicious and their portions are huge. Even with us sharing we brought back left overs. Unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert but their offerings of key lime pie, lemon cake and cannoli's sounded very tempting. If you are craving Italian in the Key West then this where you must go! Good food, good ambience and great service!

My wife & I were guests as part of a wedding reception. Coming from the northeast and the delicious Italian food at home, we did not know what to expect in the way of pasta/pizza/Italian food in KW. Maybe with little expectations, we were quite blown away with the food. Additionally, since the reception was held outside (it didn't hurt that the weather was simply incredible) the ambiance was delightful with the string lighting and being recessed in the courtyard. It was a buffet style reception so we had the chance to try many different items. Personally everything served I liked. Additionally, from all that I could see, the staff went out of their way to be attentive and accommodating. My only gripe is the space. It was very small & I am claustrophobic. Even being outside, things were narrow and the seating was tight. I realize part of it was the number of people attending the reception but it made me tenser than usual.

Fantastic Italian on the island! Order the bruschetta and you won't be disappointed. Pizzas are on a separate menu, so if you don't get it when you arrive, ask for it separately. Meat lovers was delish-- skip the ny style white pizza.

  • Katrina R.

Well, after the first late night pizza joint we tried to go to was turned into a bistro - I didn't have high expectations. This tucked away gem should get 10 stars on service, staff, and food. The pizza was amazing, better than I've had anywhere else In the USA; the people were fantastic and we had the best bartender - Paul. He shared some Key West must do's for an insiders perspective. We arrived close to closing time and they were very accommodating and entertaining. We will be coming back every time were in Key West! Plus, the parrots were so cool !

This was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. I had the seafood lasagna and it was absolutely amazing. The owner came over to our table before the meal to welcome us. He also came over at the end to make sure everything was good and we were happy. We had a party of eight. Different entries were the scallops and shrimp, sea bass, calmari, and a multitude of other meals. It was a great evening with absolutely wonder food.

Discovered this restaurant by chance while exploring the area, came back to dine here because IT SMELLED DELICIOUS. And seriously lived up to my expectations. The pasta was downright heavenly. The waiter Brian was very humorous and helpful. And they close late! Very very recommended.

Very curteous service, however the wild chickens that jumped up onto my chair is a major annoyance to me. You could literraly look at this place as an upscale/just under fine dining experience for italian food. The wait staff was very curteous, and tried to please constantly. I have only tried this spot for dinner and it hasn't been a bad experience yet. Be warned that it is on the "pricey" side, and just go ahead and get it in your mind, that you will be paying about $20-$25 for their quality entrees. If you can get it in your head before you go, then you won't be shocked when you see the menu! It's located on the quiet side of Duval St, which is a plus in my book and I have yet to eat anything here that tasted bad. It had good taste, and if they do 1 of 2 things it would be a 5 star rating for me. 1, either decrease the prices, or 2, increase the portions!

Wandering through Key West looking for a light lunch and we were drawn in by the friendly host/waiter who invited us in. I had the turkey club, my husband had the BLT. Loved the outdoor tables and enjoyed watching the large macaws play in the trees.

A step up from Olive Garden, but overall not too intersting. It is nice to sit outside on the patio next to the parrots, but its just a run of the mill italian joint, but I guess that's all you can expect being that its on Key West. I received the grilled mutton snapper which was decent, but not what I would expect from a place that is right off of the water. The pasta entrees that were ordered were enjoyed by others in the party.

After walking around looking for a spot without an hour wait we found this place. 1. Amazing prices. The breakfast menu didn't gave a dingle item over $9.00. Including house bloody Mary under $5. 2. Food was really tasty. My boyfriend had the 3 egg with meat and I had the Italian frittatas. 3. Portions were really filling for a $8 meal. Frittatas, home fries and toast. Fight feel like were being ripped off because it was a key west restaurant. 4. Nice outdoor patio. Clean. And there were two chatty and beautiful parrots. 5. Both waiters were very nice. Our waiter had only been there a week or so. Overall great food for a great price. Would recommend it to anyone. We're actually probably going to go back and try the lunch menu tomorrow.

This restaurant was surprisingly good. It was recommended to us by one of the guys that worked at the hotel that we stayed so we didn't know what to expect. I had the Linguini with white clam sauce and it was excellent. Forgot what my friend had it had the best sauce that I ever had! The seating outside is pretty nice, but the service was so-so. Waiter didn't seem to know much. Living in NY, I thought I would hate the food at a place called "NY Pasta Garden", but it was probably the best food that I had in Key West.

Huge portions, and a beautiful patio in a nice little area off Duval. Food was good, and the service was attentive. Definitely a "locals" place, with lots of folks who knew each other.

Good service and friendly staff. Food was excellent and there was plenty of it!!! Good atmosphere with both indoor air conditioned and outside seating. If you sit outside, there are several beautiful tropical birds who live there and are a blast to watch. Iced tea was bad but I'm picky about tea. Overall a great experience!

I hope you're hungry! We had really good food here. I had the baked penne pasta, it was huge!! Good wine, fair priced, and they even threw in a free appetizer which was really good! I was totally stuffed. Thanks for the tasty meal!!!

The French onion soup was all salt and seasoning. The chicken Alfredo was so buttery and rich I ate 3 pieces of chicken and called it a meal. The waiter came and took out order and that was it. He never asked how the meal was and never even commented when he came to take an untouched plate away. He just left the check. I wouldn't recommend this place even if it was close by.

We just love this place! have been all over the island in he past 5 years and we always come back. Especially gravitate here for lunches. They always have a good selection of wine, and you get near half a bottle in your glass . I have never been to a restaurant that was so friendly with the portions, of wine and food. We each had a glass of the house cabernet (very good) and started of with the soup of the day. It was a seafood concoction the chef dreamt up with a cream sauce base. Very lite and extremely tasty ! Then we each had a salad, I with the tuna fish my wife with the steak bits, and both with the house dressing. Their own dressing comes in a clear corked wine bottle that allows you to see the mixture, and shake it well for the salad. It was tremendous. The wait staff is always friendly and accommodating. We like to enjoy ourselves when we dine. The pasta garden has always come thru.

Wow what a pleasant surprise this place was! My boyfriend and I couldn't agree on just getting one item so ordered out and chose the small veggie pizza and an order of angel hair pasta with a side of meatballs. What we got was a feast for about 6 ppl for $40. The pizza was so fresh with a great variety of fresh veggies. The crust was done perfectly with just the right about of crunch and it was nice and hot when it got to us. I am not a big spaghetti and meatballs fan but i decided to take a risk on a new place with the easiest Italian dish in the world. I was sooo happy I did! The meatballs were huge and the sauce they sat in was absolutely delicious!!! The Angel Hair Pomodoro was cooked perfectly with the right amount of seasoning and taste and the small homemade garlic rolls were amazing. They tasted even better in that great sauce from the meatballs. I took a risk on Italian in a Seafood town and it totally paid off! Don't miss out on this place if you have had your fill of fish while in Key West. :-)

This is such a hidden gem in Key West!! You would never even know this restaurant is there unless you venture back into the "garden" area. They have real food displayed in the front of the restaurant so you can see what the dishes actually look like beforehand. Also, say hello to the parrots who hang out in their tree at the seating station. We went with a group of six and each of us had amazing food. The portions are large, so either split something or make sure you have somewhere to store the leftovers because you will most definitely have two meals in one. Try to garlic knots and brushetta as appetizers! Both were delicious. I think the garlic knots are complimentary for each dinner, actually. My husband and brother both got seafood dishes and were VERY impressed with their meals. Everyone else stuck to traditional Italian dishes like lasagna, eggplant Parmesan and Alfredo. Everything was excellent and we will most definitely go back again. The service was also A++++.

Wow! What can I say? This restaurant is great. The ambiance, the service and the food are all great. It's one of my favorite places to go to in Key West for lunch. Ambiance: Surrounded by beautiful talking birds outside and a quiet air conditioned inside with comfy booths/tables. Service: Absolutely wonderful. Very attentive and never rushed. Ask for Steven Fabulous if you're there. He's hands down the most amicable server I've ever had. Food: I'm obsessed with their French Onion Dip sandwich. It's a huge serving with delicious beer-battered fries. And that French Onion dipping sauce is so tasty and so fresh! Soooo good. The Eggplant Parm sandwiches are killer as well. Overall, great quality and quantity for what you end up paying. So worth it.

When we arrived, we had to wait a little bit. They thought a table was coming open but there was a mixup and our party could still not be seated. The manager went out of his wa to take care of us. Set us up inside until a table was ready. Once our table was ready, the service was outstanding, the food was excellent and they could not have been friendlier. Would highly recommend!

A great change from eating seafood while visiting Key West. I highly recommend this restaurant. Service was great and the drinks were not watered down mixed drinks that we had all week at our resort. Our waiter was great. Thank you!

This place was such a happy find! We're down in Key West with our dogs several times a year, and are always on the look out for pleasant outdoor dining places to try. Located just steps off of Duval and Truman (a major intersection), the outside seating is beautiful and private. It truly is a "Garden" as the name implies, and has the qualities of a upscale restaurant....except for the "stuffy" part of being "upscale". The setting was very casual. The servers were all very down to earth, happy and friendly...especially our server (Steven). He treated our dogs as if they were as important of customers as we were (and let's be honest - the ARE important customers, because treating our dogs well is a sure fire way to ensure that we WILL be back to any particular establishment). He even brought over his beautiful parrot - apparently a regular "guest" at the restaurants, that hangs out on her perch near the entrance. And just as important as the ambiance - the FOOD was fantastic - huge servings of fresh pasta (we had the Seafood Bella Mar and the Pasta Puttanesca - both had full, unique flavors, and were delicious!) Between the outdoor (dog-friendly) setting, the friendly service, and the tasty food, we will be back to this restaurant.

We really enjoyed this restaurant, once for lunch and once for dinner! Portions for lunch were exceptionally large, which is great for our teenage boys! Dinner pasta and salads were outstanding, and again, large portions!

First stop on the Duval Pizza Crawl took way too long. We had trouble finding it because it's no longer called the Pizza Cafe (now it's the Pasta Garden - clearly much improved). Also, it's not a pizza joint, it's a sit down restaurant that serves pizza. Sauce was too vegetal - overdose of oregano and not enough depth of tomato. Cheese was spot on, crust was decent. Top notch service - waiter dropped a slice on the floor and then showered us with comped drinks and servings of tiramisu to make up for it. Ambiance is questionable - the room's adorned with unframed jazz posters ('like the time we tried to class up our college dorm for a wine party,' one friend quipped), and the only liquor behind the indoor bar was Gentleman Jack (hint - not as classy as they think). Also, avoid sitting by the air conditioner unless you're a goddamned penguin or eskimo. Outside seemed nice, or seemed like it would be nice if it was winter time and it was a billionty degrees outside at eight PM. Overall result of Duval Pizza Crawl Score Card: 32/50. Second Place.

It was okay. The food was great and the waiter was really trying hard.. too hard and telling us to not use our cell phone. I was just trying to draft a review. I had the seafood linguini and the wife has some fish with capers. Nothing special about the meal as we can get the same here in Texas. Also, bugs kept on falling on us from the tree... It just wasn't a great experience for the amount of money we paid.

I think i had the worst dish they ever made. the Puttanesca. i could only eat about 6 bites, saved the rest and ended up throwing it away. it was too fishy...the atmosphere is amazing. the service was horrible. i waited 30 minutes to get my check. i tried not to be a bitch as i was on key west time but that was a bit ridiculous. i'm not angry at all...just making an observation. food: horrible.

We simply stumbled upon this gem looking for a place to have dinner. First of all, we had dined outside in the garden area. What an awesome atmoshpere. Also, we haven't had a waitress so thoughtful and attentative. She was great! The owner took the time to talk to our two teenage boys about the parrots. The food was well above what I expected. They hit it out of the ball park with the chicken marsala. My wife and sons enjoyed their meals just as well. I can't wait to go back to Key West. I know where I will be going for dinner.

I had just brought my new doggie home and wanted to go eat at a dog friendly location. I searched online and found this restaurant. I walked up the menu and the host and he immediately takes my new puppy from me and asks me where I would like to sit. I say any place is great. He sets Mr. Choodles on the table and proceeds to tell me the day's specials... I had a wonderful meal, the staff was great, and even the customers were very friendly and offered to play with my puppy while I ate. I had the chicken Marsala and a glass of wine. Very tasty. If you don't mind the parrots squawking in the background, and the chickens at your feet, this a wonderful location to enjoy a meal at.

I love the New York Pasta Garden - we had our Wedding Dinner there - the food was amazing - fresh and Steve our waiter was awesome... We ate there a few times - before the event and also for breakfast the day after our wedding! You can tell the food is made fresh and the portions are large! I have already recommended several people that travel from PA to make New York Pasta Garden a mandatory stop on their trip!!! Best kept secret in Key West!!!

Wow, how nice to find a good restaurant in Key West. The food was excellently priced and the portions were so huge that we also saved some for lunch the next day. The place is a little difficult to find, more to the southern(less traveled) end of Duvall Street. But it is definitle worth looking for.

Great food. We love Italian food and were looking for a place to eat while on vacation. We found this place on yelp and glad we did. You have to try the artichoke appetizer.

walked down duval street, just want to quick bite to eat then go back to the hotel. Saw big sign with sushi, walked into the plaza and saw parrots and a creepy cat trying to go after a chicken. That got the attention of my toddler. We were promptly seated by a gentleman with a Czech accent. wife ordered a pasta dish while i got a salad. The food was just okay, but the air condition helped tremendously. The staff was friendly, but the water tasted kind of funky. location is a bit hidden but is definitely kid friendly. Decoration inside was so so, it was too hot to eat outside. Overall, limited menu selection but good place to cool off.

We've eaten here many times over the years because of the funky garden setting, the very good food and the parrots... It's a typical Key West place that's hard to find these days. The waiters are engaging, service is great and the food is good with very large serving sizes. New this year are Big Gulp-sized wines by the glass.

Great Italian food outdoors so come when it's not too hot or humid. We like the pizza and the Filet Mignon Salad. The portions are huge so come hungry. The service is nice and the place is kid-friendly. They have 2 parrots (and stray chickens and roosters --- who doesn't in Key West?), which make for great entertainment for the kids. Finally, they have parking, which sealed the deal for us!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
